Instructor: Jasmine Low
Jasmine Low is a harpist from Alberta, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains north of Montana. Music and adventures have continually shaped her life. She started playing piano at age 6 and then took up the harp at age 15. A deep love and appreciation for music grew out of those early years of practice and performance. In 2000, she and her family moved to Mérida Mexico for a year to learn the language and culture of the Mexican people. While the Mayan ruins, the language, and the local food were memorable, it was the warmth of the Latin American people that captured her heart. She is currently studying Latin American music with harpist Diana Stork and music theory at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about creating community amongst people of different backgrounds and cultures and is excited to share music with us at the MCCLA.
